Day 1 - Arrive Boston

Day 2 - Boston - Maine Coast - Bar Harbor (2 nights)
Heading north, we travel through Portsmouth, New Hampshire, intothe state of Maine. We then journey along the state''s scenicshoreline, offering a glimpse into its rich past in whaling,shipbuilding and lobstering. The quaint villages along the waytypify quintessential New England, and our Tour Director will showus a Hidden Treasure. We then cross a narrow spit of land to MountDesert Island and the seaside town of Bar Harbor for our two-nightstay. This evening join your fellow travelers for a Maine lobsterdinner. (Full breakfast / Highlight dinner) Hotel: Bar Harbor Regency
Day 3 - Acadia National Park excursion & Bar Harbor at leisure
This morning we explore beautiful Mount Desert Island and AcadiaNational Park, the only national park in New England. Its woodedroads offer views of quiet ponds and rocky beaches, highlighted bythe blaze of autumn colors. A stop at the top of Cadillac Mountainprovides us with sweeping views of the park, Bar Harbor and theislands of Frenchman Bay. The remainder of the day is at leisure toexplore Bar Harbor - perhaps take an optional nature cruise, orsimply relax in this quaint village. (Full breakfast)
Day 4 - Bar Harbor - Pinkham Notch - North Conway
Leaving the Maine coast we turn inland and travel through thecolorful woodlands of maples, birch and sumac. Entering NewHampshire, we stop at Pinkham Notch for a gondola ride to the topof Wildcat Mountain with incredible views of the White Mountains.We spend the night in the town of North Conway, a popularyear-round resort. After dinner we enjoy a presentation on theflora and fauna of the White Mountains. (Full breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Fox Ridge Resort
Day 5 - North Conway - Woodstock - Killington
More breathtaking vistas await us today as we travel through NewHampshire into Vermont, New England''s most rural state, where tinyvillages and remote farm houses are framed by the striking autumncolors. We visit Billings Farm & Museum for an interesting lookback into New England farm life before arriving in Woodstock, oftencalled "the prettiest small town in America." There is time toenjoy the romantic charm of this quintessential New England villagewith its covered bridge, quaint streets and stately homessurrounding the village green. We continue to our overnightaccommodation in Killington, located in the heart of the beautifulGreen Mountains. (Full breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Killington Grand Resort Hotel & Spa
Day 6 - Killington - Fort Ticonderoga - Lake Placid
The historic importance of the region is brought to life today aswe visit Fort Ticonderoga, located at the southern tip of LakeChamplain. Built in the 1750s, the fort played a strategic role incolonial and revolutionary history. We continue into New York Stateand the Adirondack Mountains, the largest protected land inAmerica. Dotted with alpine lakes and spectacular mountains, theAdirondacks are a delight to visit. We overnight in the village ofLake Placid and tour the 1980 Winter Olympic Arena. Later there''sfree time for a leisurely stroll and maybe capture a picture ofautumn trees reflecting in the still waters of the lake. (Fullbreakfast)Hotel: Crowne Plaza Resort
Day 7 - Lake Placid - Albany - Springfield
More magnificent scenery today as we travel south out of theAdirondacks and meet the wooded shores of Lake George. This area issteeped in colonial history; learn more about the epic battlesbetween the French and British to maintain control of thisstrategic waterway. Our journey continues to the state capital,Albany, located at the headwaters of the Hudson River and terminusof the Erie Canal. After a visit to the impressive RockefellerEmpire State Plaza, we cross into western Massachusetts and therolling countryside of the Berkshires. Learn more about the area''smost famous artist during our visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum.Tonight we enjoy a Farewell Dinner with newfound friends. Day 8 - Springfield - Lexington & Concord - Depart Boston
Our journey this morning takes us into the heart of RevolutionaryWar history with a visit to the towns of Lexington and Concord,made famous in Longfellow''s poem about "Paul Revere''s Ride." It wasin these two small villages that in April 1775 the first shots ofthe American Revolution were fired. We also see the MinutemanStatue, Concord Bridge and Lexington Green, before returning toBoston. A complimentary transfer is provided to BostonInternational Airport and the tour hotel in Boston for passengersextending their stay. (Full breakfast) Please do not schedule any flights before 4.00pm.
