Day 1 - Arrive Calgary
Welcome to Calgary! A complimentary transfer is provided to thetour hotel. Your Tour Director is at the hotel this afternoon togreet you and answer your questions. Join us at 6:00pm for aWelcome Drink at the hotel.Hotel: International Hotel Suites Calgary
Day 2 - Calgary - Icefields Parkway - Columbia Icefield - Jasper (2nights)
Today our Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure! We travelalong the worldfamous Icefields Parkway, one of the world''s mostspectacular mountain drives. Marvel at the unsurpassed sceneryincluding sub-alpine forests, meadows, massive glaciers andremarkable lakes. Keep an eye out for grizzly and black bears,moose, elk and other wildlife. At the Columbia Icefield, we boardan Ice Explorer for the trip of a lifetime as we drive onto themassive Athabasca Glacier. En route to Jasper, perhaps enjoy anoptional float trip down the Athabasca River. We then drive to thequaint township of Jasper, where we spend the next two nights.After dinner, we enjoy a fun and informative lecture on the area''sabundant wildlife. Day 3 - Jasper National Park sightseeing & at leisure
We start the day with a narrated walk along Maligne Canyon, one ofthe most beautiful gorges in the Canadian Rockies. Marvel at thespectacular rock formations and waterfalls and learn about one ofCanada''s longest underground river systems. The rest of the day isat leisure. Perhaps enjoy an optional cruise on Maligne Lake, or aguided nature walk. Activities abound in Jasper National Park andyour Tour Director will provide you with suggestions. (Fullbreakfast)
Day 4 - Jasper - Emerald Lake - Moraine Lake - Lake Louise - Banff(3 nights)
Snow-capped peaks, hanging glaciers, pounding waterfalls andsurging rivers dominate the landscape as we head to Banff NationalPark and explore three of North America''s most beautiful lakes.First we cross the Continental Divide and enter Yoho National Parkwhere we view the Spiral Tunnels, Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake,a jewel sparkling with the blue-green hue of an emerald. Next isMoraine Lake, nestled in the dramatic Valley of the Ten Peaks. Wethen head to Lake Louise, one of the most breathtaking settings inthe world. Here we enjoy a narrated promenade along the lakeshoreand learn about the geography and history of the area. We end theday in the quintessential alpine village of Banff for a relaxingthree night stay. (Full breakfast / Dinner)
Day 5 - Banff sighseeing & at leisure
Today enjoy an orientation tour of the Banff area viewing BowFalls, the classic viewpoint of Surprise Corner along TunnelMountain Drive and the wind-shaped hoodoos overlooking Bow Valley.The rest of the day is at leisure. Optional activities in Banffinclude a helicopter fl ight over Mount Assiniboine, a BanffGondola ride, or a relaxing float trip down the Bow River. Thisevening, perhaps join an optional fun and entertaining musicaldinner show. (Full breakfast)
Day 6 - Banff at leisure
Today is at leisure in Banff for you to pursue your own interests.Enjoy a stroll along Banff Avenue and browse through quaint artgalleries and unique specialty shops, or discover more about Banffat one of the local museums featuring interesting exhibits aboutthe history and cultures of Western Canada. A variety of optionalactivities will be available from your Tour Director who will behappy to assist you in planning your day. This evening, joinnewfound friends at our Farewell Dinner. Day 7 - Banff - Depart Calgary
This morning as we descend from the Canadian Rockies, we stop for avisit to the Ammonite Factory. Found primarily in southeasternAlberta, we learn how this rare opal-like gemstone is mined andmanufactured into beautiful jewelry. Upon arrival in Calgary, acomplimentary transfer is provided to Calgary International Airportand the tour hotel in Calgary for passengers extending their stay.(Full breakfast)Note: Please do not schedule any flights before 2:00pm
