Day 1: Arrive Los Angeles
Welcome to the City of Angels. After a short transfer to Long Beach, settle in at your hotel and relax before your holiday begins. At 6 p.m., gather at the hotel with your Travel Director and fellow travelling companions for aÂ Welcome Reception.

Travel south along the Pacific Ocean to San Diego. Get acquainted with the city on a tour that takes you from the Victorian Gaslamp Quarter and Old Town to the gardens and Spanish colonial-style museums of Balboa Park, the nation's largest urban cultural park. Enjoy some free time before joining your travelling companions for dinner.

Head east today, as the great Sonoran Desert opens up before youï¿½ï¿½ï¿½keep an eye out for giant saguaro cacti. This afternoon, arrive in the desert playground of Scottsdale. The evening is yours to enjoy.Full BreakfastDay 4: Scottsdale ' Sedona ' Grand Canyon National Park
Travel north through the fragrant pine groves of Coconino National Forest on your way to the artists' enclave of Sedona. Get out your cameras as you near Oak Creek Canyon with its towering red cliffs and crystal pools. This afternoon, arrive at the Grand Canyon. Enjoy astounding views from the South Rim and meet with a Local SpecialistÂ who will enlighten you about the amazing geology of this natural wonder of the world.

Depart the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon and head towards the glittering lights of Las Vegas. Arrive at your hotel located in the centre of the famed Strip and enjoy one of the high-end buffets Las Vegas is renowned for.

The choices today are endless: hit the casinos, do some shopping and enjoy lunch at one of the city's elegant restaurants. If you're feeling adventurous, take an optional experience to the Hoover Dam, the engineering marvel that spans the Colorado River. Perhaps get a different perspective of sprawling Las Vegas; with a ride on the High Rolller. Or just lounge a while by the hotel pool, browse the exclusive shops or visit a spa for a rejuvenating massage.

Leave the glittering lights of Vegas behind and travel through the wide-open expanses of the Mojave Desert. Arrive in Mammoth Lakes on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and enjoy the evening on your own. (Weather conditions may cause the Tioga Pass to be closed to traffic, typically from mid-October to the end of May. In this case, overnight will be in Fresno at The Doubletree.)

Descend from the Sierra Nevada Mountains through stunning Tioga Pass (weather permitting) into the Yosemite Valley, passing the misty splendour of Bridal Veil and Yosemite Falls. Gaze in wonder at the granite walls of El Capitan and Half Dome. Spend the afternoon here in one of the wild places that John Muir called â€œthe hope of the world.â€

Descend from the mountains and head north for lunch on your own in Napa. Then it's on to Sonoma, where you visit a family-owned winery for an exclusive tour and wine tasting.Â Travel through Napa's scenic wine country before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco. This evening, enjoy dinner with your travelling companions.

As the mist rises over the bay, stunning San Francisco stands before you. Travel south on your way to Hearst Castle, once the home to one of America's most powerful men, William Hearst. After a guided tour of his fabulous residence, continue to sun-kissed Santa Barbara. This evening, toast your holiday and newfound friends with a California wine pairing at a culinaryÂ Be My Guest Farewell Dinner. Your host, a local chef and author, shares the bounty of local, seasonal foods for the ultimate farm-to-table experience.
Highway 1/Big Sur advisory ' Travel along Hwy 1 between Carmel and Ragged Point/Hearst Castle is now restricted due to recent mudslides and bridge closures. Re-routing via US-101 may be necessary depending on conditions at time of travel.Full Breakfast, Be My Guest DiningDay 14: Santa Barbara ' Depart Los Angeles
Wake to Santa Barbara's golden beaches and elegant Spanish Revival buildings. Head south to Hollywood and see its landmark sign, Grauman's Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame. Bid farewell to the City of Angels as you ride down Sunset Boulevard and through Beverly Hills. A transfer is provided to Los Angeles International Airport or to the Millennium Biltmore if you'd like to extend your stay.
